Why Twigged exists
Normal doesn't always mean the full picture.
A standard pathology report lists each marker on its own, next to the laboratory's reference range. That's essential information, but it rarely shows how your results relate to one another. Twigged takes a broader view, reading your markers in context and looking at the relationships between them.
A standard report
Each marker is checked on its own against the laboratory's reference range: in range, or flagged.
A Twigged analysis
Markers are read together and in context, using laboratory and functional ranges, defined patterns, and a practitioner's review.
Functional ranges sit alongside conventional medical reference ranges. They don't replace them, and your laboratory's ranges are always shown as reported.
How Twigged reads your results
Not guesswork. A documented method.
Every Twigged analysis follows the same written rules, so the same results get the same reading every time. Then a qualified practitioner checks it before it reaches you.
01 · Two ranges, side by side
Laboratory rangeTwigged functional rangeIllustration, not to scale
“Normal” and “optimal” aren't the same thing
Laboratory reference ranges are usually set from the middle 95% of the people tested, so “normal” means typical. Twigged functional ranges are narrower bands drawn from published, research-based functional frameworks. Your lab's range is always shown as reported, and where the two differ, your report explains what that may mean.
02 · Written, evidence-informed rules
Every pattern is a defined rule
Each pattern Twigged looks for is written down: which markers must be present, what supports it and what argues against it. Rules are informed by peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines, approved before use and version-controlled. AI helps with wording. It never invents a threshold or a finding.
03 · Experience, plus review
15 years of pattern recognition
The patterns Twigged looks for come from 15 years of reading blood tests alongside real symptoms in clinical practice, now written into rules so they're applied consistently. Every report is then reviewed and approved by a qualified practitioner before you see it.
Twigged's functional range values are proprietary. Your report shows clearly where each result sits against both ranges and what that may mean for you.
See what Twigged looks for
Three results marked normal. Together, they may explain a lot.
Take thyroid. A TSH of 3.5 is usually reported as normal, and it's often the only thyroid marker checked. But read it alongside free T4 and free T3 both sitting low in their ranges, and the picture changes: a thyroid that may be working harder to produce less active hormone.
Lower active thyroid hormone can slow your metabolic rate. That may contribute to weight gain that doesn't match how you eat, fatigue that sleep doesn't fix, feeling cold, and thinning hair. Read one marker at a time, this pattern is easy to miss. Twigged is built to read them together.
Your report also flags what's missing. Here, thyroid antibodies haven't been tested, and they're worth asking your GP about.

Pattern identified
Higher-normal TSH with low-normal free T4 and free T3: a pattern that can suggest the thyroid is under more pressure to keep up, with less active hormone available. This may contribute to a slower metabolism, weight gain, fatigue, feeling cold and hair thinning.

What Twigged analyses
Six clinical areas, read in context.
At launch, Twigged analyses your submitted results across these areas, using the markers and interpretation rules that have been clinically reviewed and approved for use.
01
Metabolic health
02
Thyroid function
03
Hormones
04
Iron status
05
Nutrient markers
06
Inflammation
The depth of your report depends on which markers your results include. Not every marker or pattern in these areas is covered yet. Where results are incomplete, your report may suggest additional markers worth investigating.

Meet the founder
“After years of reviewing blood tests in clinical practice, I kept seeing the same problem: people were given results, but very little understanding of how those results related to each other. I created Twigged to make that information more meaningful, accessible and useful.”

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I use blood tests I've already had?
Yes. Twigged analyses existing results, including tests ordered by your GP, specialist or another practitioner. If you don't have a copy, ask your GP's clinic or pathology provider.
Do I need to order new blood tests?
No. You can get started with results you already have. If important markers are missing, your report may suggest additional testing to discuss with your practitioner.
What if my blood results are normal?
That's often exactly why people come to Twigged. Results inside laboratory ranges can still show relationships worth understanding. Equally, your report may confirm that your results look consistent and balanced. That's useful to know too.
What is a functional range?
A laboratory reference range describes where most people tested fall, usually the middle 95%. It's essential for spotting results that need medical attention, but “in range” means typical, not necessarily optimal. A functional range is a narrower band associated with healthy function, drawn from published research. Twigged shows both side by side, and never in place of your laboratory's range.
Where does Twigged's interpretation come from?
From written, version-controlled clinical rules informed by peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines, shaped by 15 years of clinical practice. Each rule is approved before it's used, and every report is reviewed by a qualified practitioner. It's a documented method, not a hunch, and the same results are read the same way every time.
Who reviews my analysis?
Every report is reviewed and approved by a qualified practitioner before it's delivered. During the founding launch, reports are reviewed by Twigged's founder and Clinical Director, Pip Reed.
How long does my report take?
Our target is delivery within 48 hours of receiving all required pathology results and intake information.
What if my results don't include enough markers?
The depth of your report depends on the markers available. If your results don't include enough of the markers we analyse, we'll tell you before we begin and offer you a refund. Where results are partial, your report explains what can and can't be interpreted, and which additional markers may be worth testing.
Is Twigged a diagnostic service?
No. Twigged provides a practitioner-reviewed interpretation of your existing results. It doesn't diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment, and it isn't a substitute for your GP. If you're unwell, see your GP, or call 000 in an emergency.
Why is it A$49?
Twigged is new. A$49 is our founding price for the first 10 orders, as a thank you to the people who help us refine the service. After that, the price is A$97.
How do I submit my results?
Straight after checkout, you'll receive an email with a link to a short health form (about 3 minutes), where you'll also upload your results. Please only submit results through that form, never by email or social media message.
